Perris Speedway is starting a new concept for fan interaction!! Starting in May all cars finishing the feature will stop on the track instead of returning to the pits. Then the track opens the front gate and fans are allowed on the track. I see a few cons to this idea, but in my opinion there are more pros!

Bridgeport Speedway did something cool a couple weeks ago they had the entire starting field for the Big Block Modified feature line up behind the main grandstands so fans could come down and get up close and see their favorite driver before the race started.

Really needs to be before feature not after cars are not hot or have damage less chance for injury plus different class each week jmo

Most people take notes after a race. Temp, rpms, rear air pressure/size/stagger. Stopping after the feature would make that impossible.
If anything do it before the feature |

The Fan Appreciation Autograph Session was a part of every ASA Ac Delco Series race. Here from 1999 at Hawkeye Downs

Or put an area in the pits that is the "victory Lane" area where the winning driver pulls up with his car and can interact with the fans. Keep the car behind the fence separating the pits from the main and put a half hight fence for the driver to sign autographs and such.

I think it would be better at the beginning of the feature, hot cars, tires, and drivers all in one tight area may not be the best. It wouldn't be a great thing for every weekend because it really slows the show down, but maybe a once a month deal would be good.

Idea is good as fans and racers need more interaction at the track, but best if before races. We had a local asphalt track that would have an autograph session each race with all classes of the cars. It was held on track soon after gates opened and usually was for 30 minutes. Was very popular and never made the night longer. As mentioned, post race is not ideal as both fans and racers want to get home at that point, especially if a long night.
