Watching some videos they look like a blast to run. Are there any clubs in our area that run them?

They had about 6 of them at DuQuoin last year. Some very fast some not so. I think the motors might cause people a little sticker shock for a single cylinder Motor, but they sure ain't clone motors either.

To answer the OPs question.... you can find solid turn key used ones for as little as 3 grand...motors on these tend to be nearly stock... complete used karts 3 years old or less with top shelf motors sell for as little as 5-6 grand to as much as 8500. The costs of some of them can get way way up there because several guys are transitioning from 500cc 2stroke motors to 450cc 4stroke motors and you can spend upwards of 8 grand in modifications to the 4 strokes and still not have as much brute power as the 500cc 2stroke motors produce. Tons of guys are buying 4stroke motors from the Joe Gibbs factory Yamaha national motocross/supercross program. One of the fastest guys in the country this year is a kid named Ethan Mitchell. His dad is one of the head motor guys with the Joe Gibbs motocross team. The kid doesn't lack for horsepower but rest assured he is a WHEELMAN. Look for him to contend for the win at the Indy invitational for sure.

Most people see these things and think gokart... but they have between 80-100HP, 10 inch wide tires on beadlocks, and only have to weigh 450 pounds with driver. The accelerate like a 410 sprinter and carry the front wheels on any track with even a little bit of grip. Tons of fun to try to drive and really put on good shows on tight little tracks like you will see at Indy when you get a full field of fast guys.
