How much are pit passes? The Zonker may be done for the year but I'm coming out to support the D-II movement, and cheer on anyone who steps up a notch on Saturday.

Just saw on Facebook where they are putting some tv's up on the fence (trying to block as little of the race track as possible) so fans can watch racing and baseball. How cool is that? Hope it works! Go Cubs Go!!

Cardinal fan here, but for the past several years we have raced in October against the Cardinals in the playoffs. It seems like it's usually against the NL Championship Series or one of the final games of the NLDS. Every year it seems like the Cardinal playoffs impact our October race at Jacksonville.

This spring as we were doing our schedule, I vividly remember thinking to myself.. there's no way that the Cardinals have a playoff game against our race again... so let's go for it. That would be like 3 years in row. What are the odds of that? With us closing Lincoln early the Jacksonville race this weekend became a 2 day show.

What happens? Not only do the Cardinals have the best record in baseball, but the Cubs make it to the playoffs and they are playing each other in the playoffs for the first time in history. We are dead-center in the middle of Cards/Cubs rivalry territory. Then, the games get scheduled for 6:30 Friday and 5:30 Saturday. For the past 24 hours you can't go anywhere around here without hearing about the playoffs.

But what are you going to do about it? In this business we learn to deal with the weather and know we can't control mother nature. We can't control the baseball season either. What we can control is giving people the opportunity to watch one of the most anticipated playoff series in the comfort of their local race track... and hope they don't forget about a great racing program in the midst of playoff fever.

We hope our area fans choose to come out to the race track this weekend. It's only games 1 and 2 of the series and we will do whatever we can to give you a chance to keep your eye on it to the extent we can. It's the hand we were given... and we are going to play it. There's going to be some great racing in Jacksonville, Illinois Friday and Saturday night.

Sounds like a fun night after the races Friday with a party under the grandstands. DJ, Chili, Wings, Deb's famous hot chips and more. Bar will be open till 1:30.

Also seen that Long-time Ron Milton sponsor Rouland Trucking has put up $800 toward the MOWA dash Saturday night. The dash will be 8 laps instead of the usual 6.. Instead of putting it all on the winner, let's go with $500 for 1st, $200 for 2nd and $100 for third. Anybody up for throwing in a little to see if we can get it to $800 to win?
