The Tony Stewart Midget Classic at the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome will provide the arena for Mel Kenyon Midget Series aces Spencer Bayston and Kyle O’Gara to face off on pavement for the first time. The 100-lap Tony Stewart Classic will be held this Saturday.
Bayston currently holds two USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series records, most career wins (10) and most wins (10) in a season. O’Gara is tied for second with Travis Young on the career wins list with 8.
O’Gara has picked up the checkers six times to date in the 2015 racing season. When the Mel Kenyon Midget Series returns to action on Saturday August 1 at Anderson Speedway there will be seven races left on the 2015 calendar. Three of the remaining races will be run on dirt at US 24 Speedway, with two each of the remaining four at Anderson Speedway and the Indianapolis Speedrome. To date O’Gara has won at each of the tracks remaining on the 2015 schedule.
Bayston will be competing in the number 9 UAW/USSA Mel Kenyon Midget Series Kenyon/Yamaha with legendary mechanic Don Kenyon turning the wrenches. O’Gara will bring his own pavement midget to the showdown.
