MTQRL Returns to Rushville on July 3rd & 4th

After heavy rain forced postponement of Friday night’s fair race, MTQRL & Rush County Fair Board officials made arrangements to make the annual Fourth of July three-quarter midget race a two night affair, with racing in Rushville, Ind. on both Friday & Saturday nights (July 3rd & 4th).

Racing is slated for 7:30 pm each evening with fireworks scheduled at dusk Saturday night. Adult general admission is $10 each night but if you attend on Friday and return Saturday with Friday’s admission ticket, you will receive $5 off general admission. You must show your ticket from July 3rd to receive the discount on July 4th. No exceptions.

Since the Rush County Fair board is offering a deal to the fans, the MTQRL will be offering a deal to the racers. Three-quarter midget racing has been a fixture in Rush County for over sixty years and to entice car owners to pull their cars out of the garage and to support an area that has always supported them, the MTQRL will allow a temporary permit for the weekend.

If a car owner or driver has not paid their 2015 license and registration fees they may race under a temporary permit. One payment of $25 will allow the team to compete in either, or both races. If any participants that race under the temporary permit decide to compete in future MTQRL events this season the temporary permit fee will be credited towards their annual fees.

We hope to see everyone in Rushville on July 3rd and 4th!

General Admission:
Adult ~ $10
Child (6-12) ~ $2
Child (5 & under) ~ free

Pit Pass: $25 (all ages)

Minors must have both parents or guardians present to sign the proper release forms to enter the Restricted Pit Area. Minor drivers must also have both parents sign the 2015 Annual Parental Release form.

If both parents will not be attending the race you may request copies of these forms in advance to be signed & notarized - mtqrl.pr@gmail.com.

If these forms were properly completed at a previous Shelbyville or Rushville race this season, the minor does not have to have a parent with him/her to sign into the Restricted Pit Area.

Don't forget to mark down on your calendar Tuesday night July 14th, Tony Stewart Foundation Night at the Races, when the MTQRL three-quarter midgets will be racing at the Bartholomew County Fair in Columbus, Ind. The purse for all feature positions has been increased, and this race will pay a minimum of $500 to win and $125 to start.
