Darren Hagen has the only Honda USAC National Midget victory ever posted at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway, the host of this week’s back-to-back Friday and Saturday night races.
Hagen, who leads the 2015 Honda USAC National standings, scored a spectacular last-lap victory over Kyle Hamilton at Plymouth in 2012 when the track was paved. This year will be different, as the track surface is now dirt!
Tracy Hines, whose USAC Triple Crown resume lacks only a National Midget title, is just eight points behind Hagen in the standings entering this week’s races. Hines was the second fastest qualifier and finished third in that 2012 feature at Plymouth.
Should be a great night Friday with USAC Midgets and Non Wing Sprints. I know they have been watering this week with the help of mother nature also. I am also glad to see they moved the starting time back to 8 pm EST to give us more time to get there from work. Also I see that Plymouth and USAC are doing a Steak dinner luncheon on saturday at noon for the USAC competitors,owners and crew. Pretty neat deal on the part of Plymouth and USAC for the teams.
