Glad to see the expansion in this series into a second region. My only disappointment is that not more of the quality Iowa and Illinois tracks did not book dates with this very affordable purse series. Wish list includes: Bloomfield,Ia Lee County Speedway, 34 Raceway, Spoon River, Lasalle Speedway, Danville, Farmer City, Tri City.

WAR non wing sprints would fit nicely into Tri City Speedway's
Midget Gold Crown Nationals three day show

Excellent Idea, too bad they have already scheduled the flying billboards as a support class instead. Maybe we can get everybody to request that next year that they go back to the way it should be sprint and midgets sans wings.

This is a huge year for the WAR series especially for those events headed east. If they can get a good 18+ car count this year, I could see their east schedule growing by 50% next year.

The non wing WAR series with the Queens Royale should be a VERY good show this year

A couple of things that interest me. The Co-Sanction with USAC of the shows in the Midwest. I very much appreciate this. Probably the only way to make these shows complete.

The US-50 sanction is also very interesting. When I first saw this on the schedule, I did not know what track this was. It appears to be a go-cart track that is expanding to be a full size track. Should be interesting on how it works out.

So does the co-sanction mean they're racing together? I don't know anything about WAR, are they 410s? Similar rules to USAC?

I am not an expert, but this is what I remember. The motor rules are open. Mostly 360's but a few 410's and a couple hold over 305's. They normally run a very hard tire. The last time USAC was in town, many of the WAR guys were buying used tires from the USAC travelers. The last time that they were in town, the did run together and a couple of the top WAR guys had a decent showing.

If someone has more information, please feel free to jump in.

You are somewhat correct Jonr, the tire is any medium mostly trying to stay with the ASCS medium
There are a variety of engines mostly 360's but plenty of 410"s and a hand full of 305's. The weight rule and RR tire make it a very competitive group
On those hot summer nights when the tracks slick off the 305's are more than competitive and every year there have been 305's win WAR features
We have run with them from inception, a great bunch of guys from the officials to the competitors
We live in the St. Louis area so we were probably the eastern most team that ran regularly with WAR. I am excited about WAR East!

Red70racer,

What do you hear about US50? Do you have any information on that track?

Thanks
