This stuff is really rich. Perfect camera placement perfect mike placement. Where did they hide hide the teleprompters?

If you want a crowd in the grand stands promoters this is what you have to do. Instead we discourage such responses from the competitors and try to keep these rivalries a secret. It is all about putting on a good show. Open wheel racers are just a little too dry and self involved with their sport. Thus to the casual fan it is boring.

I remember going to the first Brickyard 400. Beside the ear splitting noise coming out of them things. I had to go to the "John" and get toilet paper to stuff in my ears. Those NASCAR fans never set down for the entire race. That stood out as kind of odd to a died in the wool Open Wheel Fan.

Our racing is definitely much more exciting than Taxi Cabs on big old boring race tracks but we as enthusiast do a poor job of conveying it.

Think this little performance did not sell a lot of tickets? I can't wait to see what Danica does for payback, bet she does it right on front of a camera.

Thought it was absolutely hysterical when Denny said "Danica, I can't help that you are loose".

Yeh

Most racers would call that not being on top of your race car>>>Da

The one I liked the most is when a then young Jeff Gordon did the same thing to Dale E. Somehow the camera was right there and it showed Jeff putting his right front up to the left corner of Dale's car (never touching him) and Dale's car just lifting up sliding over to the wall and then ricocheting across the race track. That act couldn't have been scripted any better if Hollywood had produced it on a back lot.

The "Intimidator" being intimidated by a young kid. That is good stuff and keeps them coming back for more.

Unfortunately the vast majority of the population that consider themselves to be race car fans. Fifty years ago the ratio would have been reversed. Thanks to savvy promoters and using broadcast TV to their advantage they have buried open wheel racing and diminished it's appeal to the casual fan. What we enjoy and respect in racing doesn't excite most people. Why does a track sell out for a figure 8 race and can't even make enough at the front gate to pay the purse on a major non wing sprint race.

If you see something is working and what you are doing is not don't curse that idea copy it. Imitation is the sincirest form of flattery. Let's Flatter them Taxi Cab Guys. Right now we are simply a driver development program for them. Anybody that can controll a 1200 pound 900 horsepower beast should be able to follow a script and make some serious bucks.

Gee, congrats. You're the first one to bash on Nascar. Good god, starting already? Who the f*ck cares? Of course everybody on here prefers non-wing sprints over Nascar. We all know its about the show and ratings, blah blah blah

John

That sure wasn't meant to be a dig at NASCAR.

If you build a race track they will come right?. Racers are racing for less than they raced for 10 years ago. If you have a race the crowd will fill the grand stands and the purse will be 10 times what it was in 1965 is that right (If the purse had kept up with inflation it would have to be at least that much.) Open Wheel Crowds are dying off, no driver in his right mind aspires to race at Indy. We don't have a problem.

What the heck are them guys with wings over their heads doing right>>> that allow them to run for a decent purse>>charge big ticket prices >>>and fill the grand stands??

Let's see this is a chick with an average finish of about 34th. Who claims every race that she is still getting use to the tracks and thinks she is improving. Arguing with a dude who is in and around the top 10 every week. Danica shut up! You could not drive a tricycle,

Chris

obviously it is a vast male conspiracy to keep Danica loose. Somebody needs to step forward and help her tighten up a little so she can stay on top of things and be able keep herself under control when somebody sneaks up behind her and takes away her air. The guys do this to one another all the time and no harm no foul looks like old "Smoke" would step in and help her out a little. He has a lot invested on her driving talents.

I guess I will have to watch the race this year. It should be "Exciting"!!
