Track Prep in the winter month

A good friend of mine texted me this evening, saying Tommy was out on tri-state speedway doing track prep around 8:45 tonight. I guess having one of the best tracks in the Nation is a full time job. I wonder if this is common with other dirt tracks?

Or the lack of Frost. Ground's still way too frozen up here in the Winter Wonderland.

I've no idea what kind of track prep anyone would be doing this time of year. Would take a while just to get all the snow plowed off so you could even see it.
