BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS THIS WEEK AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!

Facts and figures on this week's 19th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals Presented by All Coast Construction at Perris Auto Speedway.
• WHERE: "Southern California's Home to Major League Sprint Car Racing," Perris Auto Speedway on the Lake Perris Fairgrounds (18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, CA 92571)
• TRACK: 1/2 mile clay oval.
• WHEN: Thursday, November 6th, Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th.
• WHO: The Amsoil USAC National & CRA Sprint Cars (Friday & Saturday), USAC West Coast & Southwest Sprint Car Grudge Series (Thursday), California Lightning Sprint Cars (Friday) and PAS Senior Sprints (Friday & Saturday).
• TIMES: Spectator gates will open at 4:00 PM on Thursday & Friday and 3:00 PM Saturday. Racing will start at 7:00 PM on Thursday, 6:45 on Friday and 6:40 on Saturday.
• AUTOGRAPH SESSIONS: Autograph and photo session with the drivers and cars on the track at 3:00 PM on Saturday. Dave Darland will have an autograph session in the sports bar signing his new book “The People’s Champ, A Racer’s Life” starting at 3:00 on Saturday as well.
• PURSE: More than $100,000.00 up for grabs. $20,000.00 to win Saturday’s A-main event and $1,000.00 to start.
• ANNUAL TONY JONES HARD CHARGER AWARD: To the driver who passes the most cars in Saturday’s A main event.
• RAY SCHEETZ MECHANIC OF THE RACE AWARD: Named after the legendary crew chief who had 10 sprint car championships and 155 race wins.
• PRACTICE: Free for fans in the grandstands Wednesday night, November 5th. $2.00 pizza, beer and soft drinks. Starts between 5:00 - 6:00 PM.
• FORMAT: Qualifying, heats, preliminary and A Mains each night.
• PROGRAM: 56-page color program packed with color photos.

• ENTRIES: As this piece went to press 53 cars had been entered the 410 field and 40 in the 360. More expected at race time. Add in the California Lightning Sprint Cars and PAS Senior Sprints and there will be over 130 cars competing over the three days.

To get to the track, take the 215 freeway, exit on the Ramona Expressway and go three miles east to the fairgrounds.
