FANGMEYER TO RAFFLE SPECIAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS HELMET AT PERRIS AUTO SPEEDWAY!

(Perris, CA, October 17, 2014) Steven “Bam Bam” Fangmeyer is at again! The popular Perris Auto Speedway Modified racer has plunged several hundred dollars out of his own pocket to purchase a helmet and have a special “Breast Cancer Awareness” paint job applied to it. After the Saturday, October 25th main event at the track, Fangmeyer will draw a raffle number for one lucky winner of the helmet and all of the money will be donated to fight the dreadful disease.

Fangmeyer has grown up around the famous Riverside County racing facility. As a child, he started out by sitting in the stands and watching the races with his family. That progressed to working on a friend’s racecar and eventually racing himself.

The affable racer began his career in the track’s Factory Stock Class (beginning level) and he won the championship in his rookie season in 2010. He stayed in the Factory Stocks until 2013 when he jumped into a Street Stock. Not enjoying the Street Stock life motivated Fangmeyer to purchase a Modified at the end of last season. He has driven that car to fifth in points heading into next Saturday’s race at The PAS.

“Fangmeyer is quite a special guy,” Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian said. “We have literally watched him grow up at the racetrack. He has turned into a good driver and a wonderful interview. His charitable efforts are second to none. He has raised a lot of money for some very worthy causes.”

In some of his past efforts to raise money for charity, Fangmeyer, who resides in Lake Elsinore, has had his head shaved in front of the crowd and has raffled himself off for a date.

“I am so thankful for the ability to race and do what I do, I like to give back to charities every year,” the now veteran dirt track chauffer said, “This past couple of years we have shaved our heads in front of the fans, raffled off stuff from our sponsors. This year I decided I wanted to do something a little bit different. A couple friends’ wives are suffering from breast cancer so we thought it was time to do something for that. I thought it would be really cool to have a special helmet that had a special paint job with special artwork just to wear in October to support breast cancer.”

Fangmeyer was amazed when he first saw the helmet and heaps all of the credit to the helmet’s designer.

“My man Brady from Shifty Illusions out of Bakersfield does all of my helmets,” Fangmeyer said. “I will tell you what, he really did something special with this helmet. He knocked it out of the park with this job.”

In addition to the Fangmeyer in the Modifieds and the helmet giveaway, the LoanMart Street Stocks, Super Stocks, American Factory Stocks and the CDCRA Dwarf Cars will also be racing at The PAS on October 25th.

Camping for all events at The PAS is available for $25.00 per night. The campground will open at noon on Friday. Tailgating in the spectator parking lot will begin at 1:00 PM for all PAS events as well.
