Lincoln Park Speedway Next Up for the MTQRL on Saturday August 23rd

The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com will travel to the Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday evening August 23rd. Cody Kiewitt, Matt Arrington, Nick Speidel, Tate Martz and Logan Arnold will lead a strong contingent of three-quarter midget racers to the Putnamville, Ind. oval. The pit gate is scheduled to open at 3:00 pm, the main gates at 4:30 pm, hot laps are at 6:00 pm, and racing is set to begin at 7:00 pm. Adult general admission is $13 with kids 10 and under free, while pit passes are $30.




Cody Kiewitt, Dudleytown, Ind.

18-year old Cody Kiewitt is the current MTQRL point leader. The 2012 Tony Stewart Racing Rookie of the Year has had a very consistent season, recording six top ten finishes in ten races. Kiewitt has picked up his game and been fast at every track this season leading the Watson Racing Quick Time standings.




Matt Arrington, Columbus, Ind.

Veteran racer Matt Arrington has returned to the TQ ranks, and despite suffering from some mechanical issues earlier in the year, has closed to within 18 points of the championship lead. Arrington has won the last two races and has another four top five finishes under his belt.




Nick Speidel, Muncie, Ind.

Defending MTQRL champion Nick Speidel, whose 2013 season was one of the most dominant in recent memory, has had things a little tougher this year. Speidel sits third in the season standings with two feature wins and five top five finishes.




Tate Martz, Rushville, Ind.

Tate Martz is fourth in the season standings despite finishing in the top five in every feature he has started. Martz, a 4-time MTQRL champion, won the season opener but a prior racing commitment and a rare mechanical failure caused him to miss two races. With just eight feature starts under his belt, Martz leads the Indy Race Parts Hard Charger standings, and is tied for the lead in the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel standings.




Logan Arnold, Franklin, Ind.

Logan Arnold, another youngster at just 19 years of age, rounds out the top five. Arnold, the 2013 SSG Jeremy W. Doyle Memorial Most Improved Driver, has continued to improve this year. He scored his first MTQRL feature win in front of a packed house at the Kokomo Speedway during Indiana Sprint Week and has another four top 3 feature finishes.
