The Illinois Lightning Sprint Series will be back in the saddle again this Saturday as part of the Bill Waite Jr. Memorial 410 sprint race at the high banked LaSalle Speedway ¼ mile. Last year, 30 lightning sprints signed in to battle at LaSalle Speedway and proceeded to put on an absolute barn burner that saw 3 and 4 wide racing, with a thrilling last corner pass for the lead coming to the checkers.
As if that wasn’t already enough, legendary Sprint Car Hall of Famer Jack Hewitt will also be on hand with his famous 2 seater sprint car! Hewitt will be signing autographs at 4pm and will later give a few lucky fans the joy ride of their lives as they ride shotgun with the former USAC champ. A bicycle will also be raffled off to a young fan, so bring the whole family along. Plus all this fun will be for a good cause as part of the raffle proceeds will be donated to charity.
Hotlaps start at 6pm and racing kicks off at 7pm. Thanks for reading!
