BCI/CTR Sets Sight on Chili Bowl
Noblesville, Ind. (December 18, 2013) – A partnership that has garnered much success, including two USAC National Midget Championships and several of the sports crown jewel events, returns to Tulsa this January chasing the one missing puzzle piece, the elusive Golden Driller. In a few short weeks when the BCI/CTR/Curb-Agajanian racing team heads to the 28th running of the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals they will take four shots at Tulsa glory. The team will bring a diverse group of talent with wins in NASCAR, WoO, USAC, and 305 Sprint cars. After taking a one-year hiatus from the Tulsa Expo Center, two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series Champion and reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., will return to the Chili Bowl to headline the four-car team. Stenhouse will climb behind the wheel of the E&K of Phoenix, American Eagle Harley Davidson Buell, Curb Records Spike Chassis powered by Esslinger No. 6 in search of his first Golden Driller. “I’m looking forward to getting back to Tulsa after a year away. I’m glad all the testing schedules were able to work out and I’m really excited to team back up with the BCI/CTR guys. I can’t thank Doug Stegemoller with E&K of Phoenix and Richard Marshall with American Eagle Harley Davidson Buell Dealership enough for helping to make this happen. We had a great run two years ago and I look forward to another great trip to Tulsa,” stated Stenhouse. Joining the BCI/CTR/Curb-Agajanian team alongside Stenhouse will be 84-time World of Outlaw feature winner Joey Saldana. The Brownsburg Bullet will pilot the Curb Records, Indy Performance Composites, Saldana Race Products, Wilwood Brakes Spike Chassis powered by Esslinger No. 39C. “I’m very excited to get the chance to race Chili Bowl for Bryan Clauson and Corey Tucker. I was very surprised and honored when they asked me if I would be interested in racing for them. I had no plans to go to Australia this winter so this is a great opportunity to do a little racing and have some fun, yet still be able to enjoy the holidays with my family,” said Saldana. After a successful rookie season in 305-Sprint Car racing, Payton Pierce will make his second career Chili Bowl Nationals appearance aboard the Driven Driver Development, P&H Muffler, DGS Motorsports, Total Plumbing Solutions, Kleam Trucking Spike Chassis Powered by Esslinger No. 39T. “I’m extremely excited to get back to Tulsa to run the Chili Bowl with such a great team! It’s really cool to be teamed up with guys I’ve looked up to throughout my career in Joey and Ricky. I’m looking forward to a memorable trip to Tulsa,” stated the 3-time 305-Sprint Car feature winner Pierce. After a strong Chili Bowl rookie campaign in 2013, Dillon Welch returns to Tulsa with high hopes. I can’t wait to get to Tulsa and get things started,” commented the 20-year-old from Carmel, Indiana.
