Lightning Sprint Nationals Race at Peoria Speedway Sept. 21

Below is the informational flyer for the annual Al Archdale Jr. / Willard Bess Memorial nationals race at Peoria Speedway. If you cannot open the flyer, the race is being held on Saturday, September 21st, at Peoria Speedway located at 3520 W. Farmington Road Peoria, IL. The pit gates open at 3:30pm, hotlaps begin at 5:30pm and the racing kicks off at 6pm. The night's lineup includes $1,500 to win wing lightning sprints, $600 to win UMP modifieds, $500 to win steel block late models, & $300 to win wing 600 micro sprints. The lightning sprint payout will be as follows:

Feature

6. $220
7. $200
8. $160
9. $140
10. $120
11.-20. $100

Heat Race
1. $50
2. $30
3. $20

During the inaugural Al Archdale Jr. / Willard Bess Memorail, some of the top drivers from around 10 different states showed up and put on the best side by side lightning sprint racing that the high banks of Peoria Speedway had ever seen. Mark your calendars & don't miss out on one of the most, if not the most spectacular lightning sprint race in the country! Thanks for reading

Lets see if we can get a roll call for this event going. the track at Peoria has been great as of late.

All the PPC-A.M.S.A. Lightning Mini Sprints let all go over and support this race. The payout is a great one. So if you can make it. lets go racing.

No they cant this is a winged chain driven class only. sorry

Oh you know we'll be there! Looks like we're already at 20+ cars with ILSS cars and a couple confirmed WI/IN drivers.

Don't knock chains until you try them "OK". Some of the most creative race car minds in the business at one time or another have used chain drive to their advantage. The "Indy 500" was once won by a chain drive car. Ralph Potter built a chain drive "VW" powered midget and modeled after one of his legendary Quarter midgets that was enough to make USAC come up with a rule to ban them from racing. Ron Ambrose had a chain drive "TQ" that dominated the UMRA to a point that they saw fit to ban them also.

Seems to me like you you might be experiencing a "sour grape attitude" towards chains because you have not been allowed to implement such a brilliant drive system in any of your race cars.

My comment was just me joking around. I've got 2 new mini sprint(1200) chassis setting in the shop that I just built for a couple of guys

When we ran at wilmot saturday the count seemed to be fairly good for 5-10 of them to be coming down.
