Total Port Royal Living Legends Dream Race Take Now Worth Over $60,000,
July 21st, 2013
$3,000 contingency cash and $7,000 contingency prizes part of total - Event features car wash cash, sweet spots, lap money, hard chargers and fast times

Port Royal – Nearly $3,000 in contingency cash has been gathered and is up for the taking at the August 3 Living Legends Dream Race for 410 sprint cars at Port Royal Speedway, run in honor of Todd Shaffer and Patty Beam.

The total purse alone for the Dream Race is worth more than $50,000 and with the contingency cash added in and another $7,000 value or more added to the pot to account for contingency prizes that will be given away, the total dollar value on the night for the sprint car drivers has now surpassed $60,000.
The most recent addition to the pile of contingency cash up for grabs is Hoseheads.com Car Wash Cash.

The Hoseheads Car Wash Cash rewards will be given to the first 40 cars entering the event.

Each of the sprint car teams will be handed a $10 roll of quarters when they sign in for action so they can wash the car free of charge when the race is over, courtesy of Hoseheads.com.

In addition, a total of three “Sweet Spots” will be awarded on the night as sponsored by RE Davidson & Son Outdoor Power Equipment of Millerstown and Selinsgrove.

Each of the “Sweet Spots” will be worth an extra $100 to a lucky finisher in each of the 16-lap Dream Race semi mains and the Dream A main.

The winners of each race will draw for a finishing position between 2 and 24 and whoever finished in that position will pocket the extra reward.

A pair of fast time awards worth $100 each as sponsored by Packer’s Concessions of Centre Hall will be awarded to the driver who sets fast time for each of the two semi features.

Lelands.com Hard Charger Awards worth $125 each will be handed out in each of the semi features while a $350 Hard Charger will be named in the A Main as sponsored by Lelands.com and Big Daddy’s Grill & Chill of Lewistown.

Laps in all three main events will be worth $20 each which means a total of $1,240 in lap money will be handed out.

I'm just a regular fan at Port Royal, and doing my part. The really bad thing is I just realised last week that my week to the Outer Banks is planned over this. But I know it will be a great show. And it continues to grow every year.

Yes and pretty hard to compete with a $60,000 purse anyway.

I think overall the tracks work togather pretty good when it comes to schudeling the bigger races.
