I just wanted to spread the word a little about a new non-wing midget racing series in northwest Illinois. They are stock engines (ecotec ect.) along with 1200cc. Racing regularly in Avon Ill. and this Sunday at East Moline Ill. The schedule is at www.stormracingseries.com. Spread the word!

We are looking to come up from Florida to race with these guys on a 2-3 night race...Tracy has put together the same kind of group similar that we are doing down here with allowing Mini/Lightning sprints and Focus/Ecotec midgets to run together....We both have the same vision and talks are underway along with Brad Noffzinger in Charlotte NC for an adapted NATIONAL SET OF RULES ....Division 2 South....Division 2 Midwest....Division 2 Atlantic....3 Series Champion....1 NATIONAL CHAMPION!!! Please support this up and coming group....these will be the same rules for 2014 Florida Winternationals

What I've read is one of the "SET guys" almost won last Sunday.
My question is, just curious, are "National" midgets allowed in "Full" race form? I don't see rules on the site...also was kind of confused by the sched...do "midgets" race every night they listed?

How does this differ from the Illini Midget Series.
we started this group to bring midget racing back to the illinois area. our goal is to create a racing program for "limited midgets" (ecotechs, focus, vw, chevy II, ect) and outlaw upright mini sprints ( up to 1200cc's) to race together with big car counts and great competiton for owners and drivers on a budget. and this idea has exploded and taken off in our area. we are working with wayne davis on setting up a set of national rules for 2014 and starting a national series for next year also. the imra / storm racing series midget lite class runs on a small identical track as the chili bowl in avon illinois on an bi-weekly saturday night basis. we have had as many as 19 cars this year that made for some very close tight racing at the avcom park speedway. then the series was lucky enough to come into contact with randy swanson the promoter at the quad city speedway in east moline illinois. randy welcomed us with open arms at his high banked 1/4 mile facility and our series has really taken off from that point on. we have guys and gals making swithches to this class and tons of people looking for cars. there were alot of people who were reserved to run their mini sprints against the midgets but have since seen that the cars are so very close and even with all cars that participate in our series. we have a double header weekend this weekend with saturday night racing july 13th at the avcom park speedway in avon illinois and sunday night in east moline illinois at the qc speedway. $300 to win both nights and an added bonus for anyone who can win both nights of racing. this series has a great group of people racing with us and all of the credit goes out to them. and i would like to give a congrats and thank you to indiana's kurt mayhuw for his win on last sundays race at the qc speedway. kurt, aaron schuck, and shane morgan battled to the finish line for the win coming out of turn 4. thats the kind of racing that we like to see in our series. heck, they even had me on my feet at the end...lol please feel free to look us up on facebook at the illinois midget racing association, or storm racing series, or at our website at www.stormracingseries.com thanks
