For all of the flack that I hear on the forums about the Silver Crown series and how every one seems to think USAC is trying to kill it off, I've been just flooded by all sorts of positive press lately for both the Gateway and Hoosier 100 races. Maybe a bit of a turn around?

Looks like a fair amount of cars have been rolling in today. Hopefully they can make a comeback! I love watching these cars race and it'd be great if they could keep boosting this press up and hopefully start drawing some good fields.

I would think that somebody with USAC could see that there is plenty of good money to be made by building up the Dirt Champ Car division.
One thing they need to do before its too late is to get rid of the twin 50 idea. These cars were designed to go 100, or more, miles.
One other thing that sells tickets is twin 50 races on the miles using USAC Sprints.
There are a surprising number of mile dirt tracks around the country, just laying there not being used. This is very true, believe it or not.

First thing is, the red at lap 50 has been gone for a year now, but the idea of possibly running two 50 lap sprint car races as a preliminary race might be a pretty neat deal.

Secondly, the press has been getting much better and the Hoosier Hundred was much much more entertaining than it was last year. There were 24 cars there, which I expected 30 or more, but that is still going in the right direction. There were lots of new faces and cars that nobody expected, and that leaves room for lots more to come, old car and driver combos and new ones also.

Thirdly, the race was much better. The cars sounded much healthier and ran like they are supposed to and nothing is better than that methanol burning my eyes and nose. haha

I think things are headed in the right direction and it got back to being a very fun event like I always look forward to. Now it's time for more owners, drivers, and fans to get out there and give it a shot. Look at the series history and you will understand why we love these things so much!!
