I never seen GC (Abbreviated to avoid censorship ) ever have a big cushion before, Fri it did and it bit several but was also the reason Tmez and KT were able to advance, Unlike a show a year ago when guys were on top going all out and going backwards. It wasn't easy, they biked, triked and almost spun a few times but they got the job done vs the huggy pole i usually see.

If a track offers more than one good option. THATS ALL I ASK! Usually ends up in killer racing!

Back in the late 90's and early 2000's, that big, mean cushion made a weekly appearance. Some of the best races I remember from that time featured side by side battles between Bill Rose riding the cushion and Tony Elliott running the huggypole. Brandon Petty won several races running the cushion, and had a USAC race slip away after dominating with a combination of running the top and bottom. The modified and street stock races were even better. Doug St. Myers and Terry Hull running the bottom against Elvin Hershberger and Scott Orr on the cushion in the modifieds. James Headley and Bill Bradley running the tires on the inside against Kelly Mahoney and Greg Pierson rim riding the outside. There were many outstanding races during those years that really put Gas City on the map.
