NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION NIGHT AT MORGAN COUNTY SPEEDWAY
Tyler Shoemaker Racing: Bringing More Awareness to Breast Cancer Research
Deer Creek, IL (6-17-08) – Friday June 27th, Tyler Shoemaker Racing (TSR) and Morgan County Speedway have teamed up to raise awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Tyler announced his partnership with the Foundation in January. The National Breast Cancer Foundation will make its primary sponsorship debut with TSR on National Breast Cancer Foundation Night at Morgan County Speedway.
“The Partnership is a unique opportunity. We are very excited to have The National Breast Cancer Foundation on board as a primary sponsor for the 2008 season. We hope to spread awareness about Breast Cancer and make people more familiar with the Foundation, said Tyler.”
The National Breast Cancer Foundation, based out of Texas, plays a vital role in helping tens of thousands of women through educational programs and free mammograms.
Tyler will make his first sprint car start of the 2008 season. “It will be a great way to open up the season on such a big night for the Foundation. I am excited to get back in the sprint car”, said Tyler. “Jacksonville is a neat place. I think it is great to get a weekly non-wing sprint car track back in Illinois.”
Tyler is also splitting his weekends driving a midget on asphalt with the UMARA. Dale Ballinger hired Tyler last season to drive for his midget operation. Tyler made his first start for Dale Ballinger Motorsports on Saturday in the UMARA/USAC Regional Race at Grundy County Speedway. Tyler’s night ended early in a heat race as he violently hit the turn [2] wall and turned over. “We still aren’t sure what happened, said Tyler. Things were going pretty well at that point. We were fighting a loose race car so we may have broken something. We went down into [turn 1] and it just pushed straight towards the fence. There was nothing I could do; I was just along for the ride. We will assess the damage this week to see where we go from here.”
TSR’s other sponsors for 2008 include Houtzel & Daughters Custom Carpentry, Mirm’s Bar and Grill, and J& J Performance Powder Coating. TSR also would like to thank partners Bell Racing, Oakley, 5i5 Designs, and Walden Signs and Designs.
