Attended several of these Cincinnati Gardens shows in the 60's. The highlight for me was getting to meet one of my heros, Bobby Grim, at one of them. Talked and had a cup of coffee and a smoke together at the concession stand.
Total purse for this event was $1520.
Mostly Offy 110's that day including the feature winner piloted by Hare. Only exceptions were Fords run by Vogler, Kollman, Elliott, Gregory, Ward, Blount, and R. Clemens and Chevys for Hauck, Bigelow, Mehner, Pens, B. Clemens, and Pole.
Henry Pens had won the first indoor feature that season at Ft. Wayne on 1/8/67. Mel Kenyon won the next Cincy Gardens feature on 2/12/67.
At some of these events they also had TQ Midgets, Karts, and something called a Gymkhana. Being a big time baseball fan, I especially remember a TQ fielded by Cleveland Indians fine pitcher, Mike Garcia.
Have a GREAT weekend folks.
