I know it probably not done very often but is it possible to run a silver crown car on both dirt and pavement with moderate changes? Thanks

They used to do it all the time in pre-historic times (up to about the 80's or so). But then the desire to win was so great that they went to special dirt and pavement chassis cars. The car counts just kinda of started going down after that. Guess the cost of the extra equipment cut out a few of the teams. Same thing happened to sprints and midgets go figure.

Wonder if they could learn to get by on one chassis again? But that wouldn't be fair to the richer teams would it.

Pavement cars can work awesome on rubber down dirt with a few changes. Which changes you may ask? Sorry, but I'll only give that away for the price of what it cost me.

The answer is to not let them combine points for two cars. That's the way it used to be.

You could, yes. It used to be quite common especially with midgets before people started building specialty cars.

We did it up until the early 90's. Then the chassis for pavement got so specialized a dirt car was non competitive on pavement.

Nix's last 43 car was a Beast Combo chassis.

I am glad that Steiny mentioned that Ricky Nix ran a Beast combo car. I believe Gary Hieber ran a combo car at Nazareth on the pavement. I might be wrong about that...just going by my very vague memory.
