THRILLING RUN FOR REINHARDT
Neptune City, NJ - October 17, 2012 - It was just the kind of night that every sprint car fan dreams about. Where the fastest drivers charge from the rear of the field, battle it out for the win, and everyone goes home happy, well, except for the driver who finishes second. But, on Saturday night, it was a different story for Kyle Reinhardt. He might have been slightly disappointed that he could not collect his fourth win of the season, but he could not be upset about finishing second Saturday night, after coming out of the B-main, in the RaceSaver Sprint Series Clash at the Can at Penn Can Speedway. Reinhardt started off the evening in the McClaren Motorsports No. 21 J&J Chassis on the wrong foot after being collected in an accident on the first lap of his heat race accident, which resulted in the No. 21 landing upside down. This would force Reinhardt to qualify for the night’s main event through the B-main. Reinhardt lined up sixth to the start the B-main, and quickly picked his way to the front of the pack to gain the lead, and later the win. The night’s main event was strikingly similar to the B-main for Reinhardt. The 18 year-old, who started from the 19th position, had once again drove his way to the front of the field using both the top and bottom sides of the race track. After Reinhardt had negotiated his way past second place runner Gary Palmer, there was only a half-lap remaining. Kyle crossed the stripped behind race leader Brian Carber. The runner-up finish was his eighth top-three finish on the season. “Right now, I’m definitely disappointed about not capping off the night with a win, but we can’t really be upset with the kind of run we put together here,” said Reinhardt following the race. “We seem to be starting deep in the pack often this season, but it really speaks to the type of team we are because we always manage to be a contender for the win.” If Reinhardt could not pick up the hardware for the win at Penn Can Speedway, he was certainly not going to leave without the Hard-Charger title presented by MAGSARUS. The neon-colored No. 21 was able to work its way it past 17 cars this past Saturday with Reinhardt behind the wheel.
