Was reading about the negotiations for the new NASCAR TV contract (OOH, that word!) on Jayski's website, and found the following:

The curveball in a new FOX deal is the impact the network's change of SPEED into Fox Sports One, a new all sports channel that will carry Major League Baseball, college football and basketball and other sports in addition to NASCAR programming. Hoping to keep up with the likes of the ABC/ESPN, NBC/NBC Sports Network as well as CBS/CBS Sports Network pairings, FOX plans to flip the current motorsports and automotive channel into its own general sports cable network. As of now ancillary NASCAR programming such as practice, qualifying and support events like the Camping World Truck Series would be mixed into the revamped channel's content line-up.

In all fairness, Speed isn't much about speed anymore. Not going to miss it much other than the occasional Outlaw race (blasphemy, I know) WRC, and F1.

Haven't watched it in awhile so it's no big loss.

I'm pretty sure they only reason I have the expanded cable package I'm paying way to much for is because of Speed TV. Looks like I can cut that and save some money. I bet I can convince the wife that this will pay for a second trip to Indiana next year!

The only part of that plan that will make me cry the blues will be if AMA Supercross ends up with not as much TV time, especially the live shows they have.

Some crucial winter TV for me is Supercross! Otherwise I can kill that part of my cable package.
