Just saw this on another board, a white 4 door 2007 GMC truck with a 28 foot enclosed v nose trailer, with lettering Tanner Mortsports #90 on the trailer was stolen from a Brantford, Ontario motel. Any info you are requested to contact Ohsweken Speedway on facebook.
The sprint car was at the track when the rig was stolen.

Also saw it posted that the track has increased security over the past several years and the motels need to.

Just thought I would pass the word along to be on the look out! I hate to hear of this happening on either side of the border.

Patti

Additional information, there is a $5000.00 reward for the recovery of the truck, trailer and equipment and a $10,000.00 reward for arrest and conviction.

I am confused Charles, the post I saw said the race car was still at the track and not in the rig when it was stolen? Glad they found the rig, I hate to see racers ripped off. They have a hard enough time trying to make it to the track on a weekly basis. Many of the teams we all like to watch on a regular saturday night do not have an endless amount of money. What the have is an endless amount of LOVE for the sport of open wheel racing.

May have found answer to my own question on track facebook page, someone on there said the #90 flipped during time trails and was iin the trailer.

THEFT ALERT CANCELED - Please Share
Super Styres the the Rescue - Tanner Racing Gear Recovered!
(Score one for the good guys!)

Ohsweken Ontario, CAN | Sept. 19, 2012 - Ohsweken Speedway owner, Glenn Styres was not about to let his or his track's reputation be tainted by another racing team losing their equipment to thieves after the Canadian Nationals. So when Matt Tanner Racing told him about what had happened in the Days Inn parking lot in Brantford on Sunday morning, Styres went to work finding the stolen #90 sprint car, spares and tools. According to Matt, Glenn recovered EVERYTHING except a generator and some tools Tuesday evening. Details are sketchy at this point and we're not sure how many cans of "whoop ass" Glenn needed, but there are rumors it was the same guy who stole a race trailer last year! NICE WORK STYRES!

I heard Glenn is coming over to Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, MI tomorrow night to race in the SOD finale. If he does, and I get there, which I plan to do, I'll see if I can get some more lowdown for us all.

I just went to my 3rd Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. It’s a two day show that got rained out on the Friday. This year they tied the record for entries at 76. I spoke with Matt’s father on Saturday morning while they were waiting to be teched. They ran a 305 sprint series in New York in ’08-10, and he won rookie of the year in the 360 Empire Super Sprints series in ’11. I was shooting qualifying when he got a little too high and flipped ending a very long and expensive weekend on the track. A New York based photographer walked over and mentioned how he felt bad and they couldn’t afford a wrecked race car. Much to my disgust as a Canadian and a race fan, I read about the theft on Sunday. Talk about adding insult to injury, I am sure glad they got most of their stuff back.

I know all of us are race fans, but outside of Indiana there isn’t too much non-wing racing around. This is a great show at a wonderful facility, I don’t like to see these things happen!

HEY

For a little less than $200.00 I can sell you a GPS locator that can track your rig all over the world. Just go to your computer and get on "Al Gores's internet" type in a few commands and it will tell you within 10 feet where your trailer is how fast it is going and in what direction.

We use them in a BHPH car lot. This spring we used it to catch a hold up guy "one of our customers boy friends". We directed the cops right up to his back bumper at a stop light.

This thing is about the size of a cigaret lighter and can be powered off of the trailer battery or a stand alone battery. It will even notify you on your cell phone if your rig moves out of a specific area.

Cheap peace of Mind.
