AMSA - Grassroots Racing Revival

The A.M.S.A. pulled into the Ripley County Fairgrounds in Osgood, IN, on Friday, May 30th to start the 1st night of the Grassroots Racing Revival with the UMRA. The weather was perfect. The A.M.S.A. had 14 cars signed in and the fans were out to see a wonderful race.

Heat 1
Scott Fasse in car #8F and Dustin Hueston in car # 12, were running side by side until Fasse had something go wrong with his car and he could not continue when the green flag came out. Hueston took the lead and held it to the finish.
1st place - #12 Dustin Hueston
2nd place - #67 Nathan Mensendick
3rd place - #34W Luke Wolff
Heat 2
Another good race. The green flag came out; it was a dash for 1st place, but trouble came to car #2, driven by Austin Archdale, and he had to pull off, shortly following with car #66, driven by Kenny Burr. The misfortune of the 2 lead cars, game car #09, driven by J.R. Douglas, a chance to take the lead and hold it till the end.

3rd place - #6J Doug Jones
Feature
12 cars started in the feature. Several yellow flags came out for cars spinning and those that were pulled into the infield having trouble. When the green flag came out car #12, driven by Dustin Hueston, took the lead, but car #44, with Jason Soudrette behind the wheel, was on his tail but just could not pass. Dustin Hueston pulled into the winners circle for his 2nd feature win.

4th place - #09 J.R. Douglas
5th place - #8F Scott Fasse
Terry Eaglin, promoter of the Ripley County Fairgrounds in Osgood, commented that they plan on making this an annual event with both the UMRA & A.M.S.A.
