On Saturday August 11th the Midwest TQ Racing League
presented by Jenmarco.com will conduct "HARF Night at the Races" at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Madison, Ind.
This will be the third attempt of the season to stage a three-quarter midget race at the fairgrounds. May 12th was scheduled as the season opener but Mother Nature had different plans when rain washed out the program before it even started. The TQ’s were next scheduled for July 7th during the Jefferson County Fair when Mother Nature again intervened and excessive heat forced the cancellation of that race as well.
The MTQRL has completed ten races this season and four drivers have visited victory lane. Muncie’s Nick Speidel has four feature wins, the most of any driver, and started the season on a hot streak by winning the first three races. Speidel is also the most recent winner at Madison taking the victory on Sept. 17, 2011.
Ronnie Combs of Greensburg has three wins on the year in just six races. Amazingly the three races Combs didn’t win he finished second!
Connersville’s Brett Hankins is the current point leader and has scored two wins this season and defending and three-time champion Tate Martz of Rushville is the most recent feature winner, Saturday night at Shelbyville, and is currently second in the season standings
The MTQRL has averaged nearly 25 cars per race over the course of the season and a full field is expected to compete on Saturday. Gates open at 5:00 pm, practice is at 6:00 pm, qualifications at 6:30 pm and racing is set to begin at 7:30 pm with the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. Following the Duel will be the Perfect North Slopes heat races, a semi feature and 25-lap feature.
Adult general admission is $8.00, children (7-12) $5.00, and 6 and under are free. All Hoosier Auto Racing Fans (HARF) members with a valid membership card will receive 50% of general admission.
