TQ Racing at the Morgan Co. Fair Tuesday July 31st

The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com will hold their inaugural race at the Morgan County Fair in Martinsville, Ind. on Tuesday evening July 31st.

Three-quarter midgets used to make an annual appearance at the Morgan County Fair but have been absent for almost seventeen years. In fact it has been so long ago that only three active drivers (Kevin Blue, Ronnie Combs and Bruce Leisure) have ever competed at the Morgan County oval.

Leisure finished seventh in the last TQ race held in Martinsville on August 1, 1995, and Combs won the feature in 1989. MTQRL car owner champion Roger Ramsey has competed at Martinsville as a driver and scored a pair of feature wins in 1974 and 1984.

Drivers expected to compete on Tuesday night include three-time and defending MTQRL champion Tate Martz (Rushville), current point leader Brett Hankins (Connersville), four-time feature winner Nick Speidel (Muncie), Rick Robinson (Columbus), Bobby Walton (Waldron) and three-time feature winner Ronnie Combs (Greensburg).

Two local drivers, Brandon Ladyman and John Doyle, are also expected to make their first start on their hometown track.

The pit gate is scheduled to open at 4:00 pm with practice at 6:00 pm and qualifications at 6:30 pm. Racing will begin at 7:00 pm with the Jackson Oil & Solvents Duel for Fuel. Also on tap will be Perfect North Slopes heat races, a semi feature (if needed) and 25-lap feature.

General admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children (6-12) while 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $25.00 for all ages. All vehicles entering the fairgrounds after 1:00 pm will be charged a $3.00 parking fee. The fee will be waived for all vehicles towing a race car trailer.
