I haven't been posting for awhile, life and racing have ate up most of my time like so many of us!

For the first time in my life I was able to shoot non wing at my home track of South Buxton Raceway. We had a fairly dry track, 14 cars (several being winged racers with them taken off), and my $600 flash decided to endure some technical difficulties. Otherwise I was glad to have seen this event.

Here is the entire gallery:http://www.apexonephoto.com/CanAmCha...Ra/Sprints-721

Michigan racer Dain Naida won and Mark Cassella finished second.

Mark Cassella would win his heat race.

Sometime poster on here Dick Mahoney.

Winner Dain Naida with crew chief Dan McCarron.

Just want to clear a small mistake up. Mr. John Watson, MTS/OTS car #26 finished in 10 place at South Buxton Raceway last Saturday night.
Not in 13th place. Thanks.

Hopefully now the OTS (with the help of MTS/BOSS) has proven it here in Ontario that non wing racing is great fun for everyone. The competitors that have been brave enough to try it for the first time didn't die because they took their wings off. They also realized that you don't need to change a whole lot on the cars to be competitive, basically pull the wings off, make a few adjustments and jump in. As well, when the wings are off, engine size is almost not important. A 410 won Friday night and a 360 won Saturday night. There were few cautions and Saturday night went green to checkers. All the drivers/teams put on great performances both nights. The tracks here in Ontario that also took a gamble by giving the OTS a race date were also rewarded with almost capacity crowds. There were plenty of butts in the seats, not standing room only, but still high attendance by fans who came out to see a new form of sprint car racing in this province. Both nights last weekend in my mind were a success and I look forward to acquiring more dates, plus hopefully some new tracks for us to go to in 2013. I'm also looking to co-sanction with the MTS and BOSS in the future as much as possible. Much thanks to those two groups and the OTS staff, the tracks, the competitors and all the fans that made this weekend a great success.
