Both "Focus" and "Super Focus" cars are welcome in the Illini Racing Series. Patrick Bruns has led the point standings most of last season and all of this season with his USAC legal Focus. This is quite a feat when competing against "Super Focus", Quad 4, and EcoTec powered cars on both pavement and dirt. The American Racer DOT legal tires are a great equalizer -and cost saver.

We bought our Stage 3 cams directly from Comp Cams along with the spring kit.

Plenty of used stuff around. Unless you are running a sealed unit there isn't a need for the clutch or bell housing. In the Illini Series the trend has been towards removing the clutch & flywheel to reduce rotating weight.

We've been between 16 and 23 for 4 events this season. The upcoming Grundy show [7/14] may require a semi-feature. Same cars & tires for pavement & dirt. Plenty of races yet this year as our schedule tends to be packed in August & September.
Lots of motor variety too: Autocraft VW, Sealed Scream Focus, & Ecotec have won the features against Super Focus, Honda, Chevy II, Dodge, homebuilt Focus, Brayton Buick, Quad 4, and Fontana.
Close racing too. Check for Illini Racing Series on U Tube or Facebook.

Thinking about upgrading to "super focus", does anyone have recommended cam and springs? Also the recommend fuel settings, nozzles, bypasses and jets

Comp Cams stage 3 with valve spring kit. Fuel system setting advice should come from someone who has their car running well.
