Iowa state fairgrounds Hawkeye Futurity race...Jerry Blundy and Jim Moughan tied together the whole race, Moughan won a close one at the line.
2 other non-wing races were when Ron Shuman won the Hulman Classic and a Frost Buster at Sedalia, MO with Eddie Leavitt winning over Shane Carson.
One of the craziest and scariest races was a school bus figure 8 race at the speedrome in Indy.

Track Name..Southern Iowa Speedway
Location ......Oskaloosa, IA
When / Date ......August 2004
Race .....Ultimate Challenge
Drivers Involved....The Rocket Jesse Hockett, Dickie Gaines, think it was Darland (or maybe Hines) who put on the show of shows
Post Pictures if you have them....sorry
Post Videos if you have them...again, sorry
Watching Hockett and Gaines and Darland (I think) battle their arses off for the last half of the race, changing the lead often was great....but the fact that there were 4 lead changes on the LAST LAP among those 3 drivers is what I will never forget....Gaines just edged the Rocket in a photo finish with Darland (I think) less than a carlength off of them..... I was heartbroken Jesse didn't win but at the same time I was super psyched that a real blue collar hard working guy like Gaines got it done... I still think he is one of the most under rated 2nd generation guys to ever buckle in....what a show!!!!

Sorry, after all these years they seem to run together, but 3, not 1 stand out.
1. USAC at THAT, early 80's. Vogler hops in the Bowen Olds car for the Consi. Then Vogler then starts way in back,in the feature, and drives his way to win. Incredible drive by an incredible driver.
2. North Vernon about 10 or so years ago.Everyone rained out but them. Open show. Donne Gentry takes off , and then a tire goes bad. For 20 laps Hewitt and Tracy Hines bang wheels and drive their butts off. Hines wins in the end.
3. The lengendary Stanbrough and Clayton battle at Haubstadt. You had to see it to believe it. Wheelies, sliders , and flat out hard racing. Truly a show to remember.
