Last night was the final muffler test at 35 Raceway in Frankfort and everything is now a go for next Saturday, June 2nd. This will be the first ever event for full size race cars at the 23 year old 35 Raceway. This event is open to any non wing sprint cars and will be run under BOSS rules. Although it is not a sanctioned BOSS event, it will utilize the pill draw system, it is an open tire rule, no weight rule, and there are no track or series fees to pay.

Being a first ever race of this kind, the payout will be based on car count, but it guarantees $100 to start for everyone and there will be contingency awards for the top 12 finishers. Pit passes are only $25 and sprints will fire motors at 4:30. General admission is only $10 and 35 Raceway will also be running their regular show including mini sprints, mod lites, outlaw 4 cylinders, stock 4 cylinders, and karts.

For drivers and teams interested in racing, the track has a rule that cars be under 85 db at 100' from the race track. The track has some special mufflers available for free to the first few teams that call. However, last night we tested the regular Schoenfeld #112535 (All Star Muffler) on an aluminum 410 motor and the readings were between 80 and 83 db. If you plan to attend, please bring your car equipped with mufflers and we will do all we can to help out IF your car would be above 85 db.

For more information, you can call track promoter Tony Boetcher at 614-561-5967 or call me (Aaron Fry) at 740-703-3768.

Kirk Jeffries 5/26/12 taking a few test laps and testing mufflers he was bad fast and quite, although this is the sugessted muffler as it works well on all engines, the All Star Muffler in the first post on this thread seems to work on cars with 800 or less hp and 6500 or less rpm.

Jeffries tops NW Inaugural; Ervin, Furniss, Boetcher Repeat

Westerville’s Kirk Jeffries took the 20-lap feature debut of the non-Winged Sprints at 35 Raceway Park on a cool full-moon evening this past Saturday.
Jeffries, the track’s 2001 Mini Sprint Champion, started the 20 lap feature from the fifth spot (inside row three) and had worked himself to the lead position within the first couple of laps as he and Lewie Christian swapped the lead in each end of the bullring with a three way battle behind them for third at times going three wide into turn one with lots of passing back and forth, as the traditional Sprints took to the clay for the first time ever at 35 Raceway in very successful fashion. Jeffries The 40-year racing veteran won the heat race earlier, also from the tail. Following Jeffries in the feature was former Mini Sprint driver Lewie Christian, Aaron Fry, Bob Tucker and Aaron Strausser.
