I've never done it before...
I've sat in the stands hundreds of nights, but I'm thinking about doing the infield thing. Lawnchairs, grill, football,...

opinions?

Without a doubt, the best way to go.

I sit in the infield every time and I love it. It's true, you can't see the whole track at once, but you can sit so close that you can really feel the speed. I always sit in turn 3. It's fun to watch them charge down the back stretch and then set up for the turn. Besides, there is more room to roam. If you do sit in the infield, come down to turn 3 and say "HI". And it is fun to throw a football or frisbee around.

The one thing about the infield is you can see things that are impossible to see from the grandstands. Up close and personal. And now that Terre Haute has the pits in the infield, you can walk over to the fence and watch the guys prepping their cars.
I've always felt that as a photographer I usually have one of the best seats in the house, and I don't even get to sit down.

By far the best, I have been going to THAT for years now and I always sit in the infield. I love the fact that you can be that close to the cars and be able to move around have a beer and enjoy the best drivers at work.. Love it turn 4 come say hi... :thumb
