Come one come all...This Saturday night at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Resort at 4400 W. 16th St. in beautiful Speedway Indiana we will once again have our 2nd largest party of the year, and that is our Monte Carlo bash. A fun night starting with movies, bench racing & seeing all of our racing friends again, friends that is until the gaming starts, then it's every race fan for themselves. We bring in the BEST, Elite Casinos, to do all our games, with top notch tables and dealers, 2nd only to Vegas (but more fun and less pressure, maybe even a tip from the dealer sometimes on whether to hit or not). Earn as many gaming credits as you can in the 2 hours of gaming to use on our HUGE auction of prizes and racing memorabilia. There will be give-aways during the night, a 50/50 drawing, & Surprises, but mostly a ton of fun gaming next to your friends (and some drivers). now for some details:
Saturday night, November 19th, 2011 Social hour & movies 6 pm till 7 pm Gaming 7 pm till 9 pm (with the auction to follow) Cost: HARF members $10.00 (which will include 1000 gaming credits) Non members $25.00 (which will include a 1 years membership to HARF & 2500 gaming credits. (Members who bring a non-member will receive an additional 500 credits & if you renew your membership that night you will receive an additional 1500 credits). Extra gaming credits available for only $1.00 per 100. Racing drivers always admitted free and we start you off with 500 credits (just let Vicki know at the admission table). Auction donations are always gladly accepted. We hope to see you all there Saturday night, it's always a fun night. bob ![]() |

...exactly right PAW, one of the best parties around, that no one came to! We hear from our members all the time the "the club" needs to do more events or movie parties or bus trips or whatever and then this is our turnout (Vicki figures about 45). The facts are simple, the economy is tough, prices are high, the holidays are approaching, name an excuse, but to continue to attemp to provide events to entertain our members, guests and other race fans will take more attendance and more involvement from you race fans out there. Every year, and let me repeat, every year we get requests to do a bus trip to a race, great idea, and 1 of the first things i did when i first joined HARF was go on a bus trip to Michigan, a wonderful trip (even though MIS was new and had like 1 bathroom). So i asked my wife, Vicki, to check out bus trips and WOW! We have come along way from $20 bucks and that gets you a bus trip and a ticket, now we're looking at $50. a person, easy just for the bus, then add your ticket price of $50 to $100., your cooler and food, and guess what? once again, nobody will sign up! i don't want this to come across as another nagging post, just wanting those of you who ask us to do more, what we're up against. A few years ago we did a movie party, an old favorite of our club, we rented the room, tool care of the snacks and beverages, had door prizes, and once again, attendance of about 20.
We plan to keep trying new ideas, shop tours & our HARF discounts at the tracks (we had over 35 this year, some even free), and are always open to new ideas. Luckily our next event is our Champions Award Banquet on January 29th (the day after the Dori Circle Track Expo), and that is always close to being a sell-out, so it's the one event we do great at. Plan now for that fun weekend, the 12th Annual Circle Track Expo on Saturday and our Banquet on Sunday, it makes for a great off-season race weekend. Tickets for the Banquet (or sponsor an award) information can be obtained thru our website www.harfonline.org My apologies for the long post, hope to see you all on the weekend of January 28th & 29th, 2012, bob ![]() |
