A friend of mine had this pic of the Diz Wilson Sprinter but neither of us recognize the driver or, the year this may have been taken. Any help would be appreciated!

Carl Williams drove the #71 for Diz for awhile with Dick Gaines in the #70. I think it was orange when Carl wheeled it. Then again, I'm quite old, forgetful and easily confused.

your right Marv, Carl drove it when it was orange and so did Mike Smith for a couple of years but...I think I see a "B" on the drivers helmet and it appears to be a fancier paint job than I remember Carl wearing. He also doesn't appear to be as husky as Mike or Carl, either. But....I could be wrong!! The car in this pic was yellow so I'm thinking it was after Mike and Carl.....again, I could be wrong about that too....

The car looks too new to have been driven by Mike or Carl, but I'm not sure who is in it.

Bobby Black would be a good guess. Bobby had a helment around that time painted up all fancey when he drove the #56 maroon/white car that was a mate to Bob Kinser's #65.

If memory serves me right, and that doesn't happen often, Bobby was a "painter", which might account for the flames on his helmet, and I believe he also worked at the IMS, painting the names on the pit spots, as well as the "team" colors. Bob!
