For some reason I can't download the video, but we have some sprint car racing in England, they race on tarmac ( Pavement) most of the time: website http://www.uksprintcars.co.uk/

The biggest formula on short ovals in England is Brisca F1, they have unlimited engines but must run pump petrol ( Gas) and no fuel injection: website http://www.f1stockcars.com

For some more photos of racing In England have a look at my website http://www.stoxphotos.com

Any Sprint car drivers who fancy a go in our cars please get in touch.

Colin

I didn't get to see this telecast, but I have seen a Brisca F1 meet live, at Coventry, which is a "dirt" track. The surface is actually shale. It is (I believe) the same track on which they race Greyhounds. The facilities are wonderful. I watched the show while being served dinner and beer by a tuxedoed waiter. The cars are heavier, with much stronger bumpers and nerf bars, because there is lots of contact. The top drivers are proficient at unsettling the guy in front by bumping him, and even better at not being unsettled when being bumped by the guy behind. You don't get a "yellow" just by being spun out; you're supposed to get started and continue racing. It's a very entertaining form of the sport.

Their equivalent of street stocks carry the non-stop idea even further. They are run much like our enduros. As I recall, they draw to determine whether they run the race clockwise or anti-clockwise, so the cars have to be set up square.

I'd be happy to participate in a group trip to see some. Some of their larger "meetings" happen before or after our season.
