BOSS Sprints Set to Invade Wayne County Speedway

The BOSS sprint series is proud to announce that the 2011 season finale has been moved to Saturday, October 8th at the legendary Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio. Built in 1965, Wayne County has been one of the most successful tracks in the Buckeye state and has only held one previous sanctioned non wing sprint show in its storied career. In June of 1978, Sidney, Ohio driver Duke Cook claimed a 40 lap USAC sanctioned sprint event on the 3/8 mile clay oval.

Fast forward 33 years to 2011 when Joe McIlvane purchased Wayne County Speedway early in the season and hired Jason and Kristin Flory as promoters. This season has proven very successful under the new owner/promoter combination. Although the winged 410 sprints make up a part of their weekly program, the BOSS series will bring the non wing variety back to area race fans for a 25 lap $1,200 to win main event that will pay $225 to start.

Ione, California native Justin Grant has already pre-entered in an attempt to back up the BOSS grand opening event win on July 16th at K-C Raceway in the Gene Comstock Memorial. Two time Lawrenceburg Speedway champion, Joss Moffat has also pre entered and will lead a strong contingent of Indiana non wing specialists. Three time Michigan Traditional Sprint Series champion and former SOD champion, Steve Irwin from Flint, Michigan, also announced his intention to appear at WCS. In all, sixteen drivers from seven different states pre enterd within hours of the race's announcement with many more drivers expected.

Watch for more details to come, including a complete pre entry list. More information on the BOSS series can be found at www.buckeyesprints.com and more information on Wayne County Speedway can be found at www.waynecountyspeedway.com
