There used to be tons of Modifieds in the North part of the state when they were IMCA sanctioned. You could easily run one 2 to 3 nights a week 15 years ago. Today about the only other series left is the www.usamodifieds.com . They are a traveling series that run races in Indiana,Michigan and Ohio.

I remember seeing asphalt mods at IRP some years ago.

ICAR with Jim Minnich sanctioned the asphalt mods in the 90's & early 2000's. Ellis took over when ICAR folded as USA Mods.

USA Mods will be at Winchester Speedway Sunday August 21, 2011 during the second day of Old Timers Weekend. Must See Sprints will also be on the bill.

Every time someone starts running them they end up getting out of hand dollar-wise. Eventually their cost would surpass that of the late models they were intended to replace. The UMP people have the best car count going but they're all dirt.

I was too young but I've seen photos of the old SuperModifieds they use to get up north. Looked like sprinters with wings usually. Would've love to see them run as I heard they were hella fast.
