Be nice to people on the way up. You might need them on the way down. Jimmy Durante

Very enjoyable evening! Weather was near perfect, racing was competitive, saw a new track record and the first ever female race winner (Sondi Eden), conversed with Danny Burton, saw a few vintage cars that I hadn't seen before (Charlie Masters #21 Ezra Brooks); hadn't seen him in years. I mentioned his name to my wife and stepson as we saw the Waddy, KY exit on the way to Lexington, KY Friday, and, lo and behold, he appears on the track the next evening.
Was on the road by a little after 9:00PM (CDT). Glad I went!

Ron,
The PA announcer was close but not quite accurate. Sondi's heat race win was the first ever SPRINT CAR win by a female at Salem. Bev Griffis won in a midget at Salem with AAMS back in the late 80's/early 90's. I was the series photographer back then and have the pics of her and her dad in Victory Lane.
