I've never see that format. I thought it was going to be a pursuit race. But, how come they let the 4 restart? I would have thought that was it.

Does anyone remember the 4-car contest at one of the Oval Nat'ls at Ascot in which 4 cars ran 4 dashes (rotating the lineup each time)? I recall that it started with a bet between Frank Lewis and another owner, and that Haud won it. I'm sure that Wags remembers it, if no one else. What year was that?

Perris did that format at last years event. I'll post footage of it later

You must be thinking of the Pacific Coast Open as The Oval Nationals were never held at Ascot.

In the one I remember, the 4 owners each put up $2500, with the whole $10 grand going to the winner.

The race at Ascot was in 1987,It was ran with Brad Noffsinger,Mike Sweeney,Jack Hewitt and Haud.It started out by a bet between Frank Lewis and JW Hunt.
Now that I thought more about it,I'm not sure Haud was in it and it might have been Brent Kaeding with Noffsinger winning it.

I found the program from that race,I was off by one year it was in 1986 and Noffsinger did win it.

Almost 24 years ago? Damn I'm getting old. I think I'll go take a nap.
