That's a big ol' humper on the right rear.

Mike was a good shoe and a thrill to watch. I remember the Waltz family and what they have endured. I was blessed to have known Mike.

I sure remember Mike Waltz. When I was 6 or 7 years old and used to go sit on the hill at Paragon, this was one of my favorite drivers. He used to fly around that place in that black 2, as fast as anybody. And that's really saying something when you consider how many all-time greats were doing battle at that place, back in those days. This was a guy at an age, that in those days, was considered a kid. But he was a helluva driver, no matter what age he was. And here I was, a kid race fan. I think that's one of the reasons I was a Mike Waltz fan. Another was because I met him and he was a real nice guy. It was terrible when I heard that he had been lost. R.I.P.

Jim Waltz was a pretty good racer too.

Not real sure but dad told me that the right front spindle broke off coming out of 4 and that should be enough said for that, dad said when he got to the car that his neck had been broken. Sure wish i had half the shoe him and grampa had in the day, but i can just say that i'm blessed to have them as my family! R.I.P UNCLE MIKE & PAPPA

Leffler or a Meskowski. Both built pretty much identical cars. Leffler built a lot more than Wally, though so, it probably is a Leffler. The first sprint car I ever drove was a Leffler owned by Bob Jones from North Vernon IN.
