Larry Rice's D A jacket in this 1969 picture?

Please see the attached 1969 photo of Larry Rice in a D A black-yellow jacket at a track at Lansing, MI. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the history behind this jacket....was it given away at some event, at Indy, etc. Any help on this history would be greatly appreciated. That same day, Larry, Don and Mel Kenyon, Clark Templeman, and Curley Rhann, had a lunch where I lived in HOLT, MICHIGAN, about two miles from the track. (SPARTAN SPEEDWAY)
