I'm from Bloomington and I don't get it?

Just a mis-spelling to say that IU is sub-standard or does it mean something else?

Coach of the week's last name, I hope the hoosiers turn it around and get a good coach with one of these moves. This comming from a Purdue Fan.

Gary... Crean is the new coaches last name. This guy is going to be around for awhile. He will be a great basketball coach for Indiana!

I dont get the Hire of Crean as IU BB coach. They should have taken more time and found the perfect COACH for the job. I have my opinions eight letters coaches in Ft. Wayne.

I don't get it going the other way. To me, this is a diagonal move at best for Crean. He's going to lose Eric Gordon, and his recruting will likely suffer due to likely post-season bans when the NCAA hands down judgment.

I get it that IU has all this history, but it's not like Marquette is some b-ball backwater, either.

Crean is the perfect fit @ IU, IMO. He's young enough to be here for a long time. Has a clean record with the NCAA. Runs a disciplined system that kids seem to really buy into and play hard under. And he is a well established recruiter in the Midwest. Especially here in Indiana. Plus, he's been an assistant under two coaches that won the National Championship. Jud Heathcoate and Tom Izzo. A couple of years from now, I think we'll be glad they selected this guy.

Anybody that thinks this is a bad hire, doesn't know basketball. More importantly, they don't know Indiana basketball. His press conference the other day (which I listed to the whole thing) tells you all you need to know about how things are going to go. IN kids will be #1 priority and then you go from there. That's the way it should be. Players also graduate.

From Crean's standpoint, he will have to deal with some issues up front. However, once that's over, he will own the place. He can write his own ticket. I was very impressed with him on day one. THIS is the guy that should have been hired in the first place. He gets it.

He kept saying how lucky he is.... IU is the lucky one. There are lucky somebody of that caliber wanted to take over after the fools that have been running the place the last 10 years have almost ruined the program for good.

If Greenspan is fired by summer, then everything will be great. He still needs to go. They are still paying coaches he hired and fired in other sports.
