Sponsor-Net.com Returns the Close Call Award for “Copper on Dirt” at USA Raceway this Weekend

February 16, 2011 (Surprise, AZ)- After the resounding success of the inaugural Sponsor-Net.com Close Call Award at this years Chili Bowl Nationals, Sponsor-Net will return the award “nobody wants to win” to this weekend’s Copper on Dirt at USA Raceway in Tucson, AZ. Nothing hurts more than crossing the start/finish line knowing you were just one position short of making the A-Main or Feature of any race! In comes the CASH Close Call Award, which will be awarded to this near miss driver in EACH CLASS, EACH NIGHT!

The Close Call Award will award $50 cash to the first driver in each classes B-Main not qualifying for the nights A-Main. The award will be presented in the pit area following each B-Main during both nights of the 5th Annual Copper on Dirt (Friday and Saturday). Classes competing each night for the Close Call Award include the ASCS National Wing Sprint Cars, Midgets, The West Coast Late Model Shootout vs. Total Seal Late Model Dirt Racing Series and USRA Western Modifieds.

To answer a question...if a class has 2 B-Mains the Award will go to the first non qualifier in the 1st B-Main.

If there is no B-main for a class we will select a "Hard Luck" Award winner prior to the A-Main based upon that classes heat races.
