Thank-you to everyone who assisted physically and financially with what may have been my one and only Chili Bowl trip racing the #56. Every effort can be attributed to "the reason" I did not throw in the towel before even leaving the shop (if not for so many factors, I would have came to my senses and gave-up the Sunday or Monday we left). As it was, mechanical issues and my lack of ability to make consistently smooth laps (thanks to the help at the track, we did have a couple decent times at least) left me looking more like a fool Thursday and then Saturday, what appears to be lack of spark (chased fuel concerns all day Friday...but did check and clean "points" in magneto, changed the cap, tested the plug wires, cleaned and checked plugs too...), kept the #56 from starting. I am very thankful for the interest and good words from so many though. It is very humbling that so many still encourage me to continue chasing a dream, that for the most part, has been more disappointment than highlight reel. Guess the biggest thing I learned was IF I am actually at a track before hot laps, to at least start the car to make sure it runs and warm-up??? Otherwise, I could add "checking for spark" to my long maintenance list? Hope I figure something out, as I would hate to think the 6 decent laps I had were my only attempt at the big race...
