Can anyone explain the differences in a non wing sprint car between a coil front end and torsion bar front end in terms of handling characteristics, advantages on different track surfaces, ease of set up etc. Thanks

Without being long-winded and boring.....

Coil cars tend to react quicker than a bar car. Alot of drivers feel a bar car is more forgiving and a coil car reacts more to bumps and a driver being in and out of throttle.(The nose will jump around if a driver jabs the throttle or dumps it.)

It's really a preference thing and if you can be smooth on the throttle and where you race doesn't rut up too bad....a coil car would be alright.
