Cody Morris, TULSA, OK (September 3 2010) - The weather may have cooled down, but the opposite was true with Lucas Oil ASCS2 action at Port City Raceway as a trio of Lucas Oil ASCS2 standouts each scored repeat Port City Raceway victories in Lucas Oil ASCS2 action.

Likely the coolest Oklahoma evening in months welcomed that wheel to wheel action that the lightning fast, high banked, 1/8th mile Port City Raceway is famous for. Against an extremely tough crop of local and regional racers, 2009 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion Kevin Bayer narrowly escaped a hard charging Christopher Bell, while Bell did accomplish the feat in Non Wing action and Dalton Wisely continued his holiday domination of both the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted division and Port City Raceway.

Pryor, Oklahoma's Frank "The Legendary" Flud led the field to the opening green flag, but the advantage would be short lived as Bixby, Oklahoma's Outlaw powerhouse Kevin Bayer assumed command in the 2nd circuit of the 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event. A lap 5 melee involving Andrew Felker, Scott Sawyer, and Curtis Evans would bring an intense opening 5 laps to a calm.

Bayer would maintain his lead out of the restart, despite the furious action behind him. The event would again be slowed at the halfway point as both Zach Alley and Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship contender Christopher Bell both came to stops in separate affairs. The caution would mark a wild 2nd half of the event for the Lucas Oil ASCS2 title contenders. As Bayer led the field into the 2nd half of the 25 lap event, Sapulpa, Oklahoma's current Lucas Oil ASCS2 point leader Blake Hahn had worked his way past Flud into 2nd.

Hahn's luck would change as he charged under Bayer for the lead coming out of turn 4, only to loop his mount and fully complete a trio of donut spins in effort to avoid the yellow flag. However, the yellow did come out and Hahn would be sent to the tail along with his Norman, Oklahoma adversary Christopher Bell.

Both would begin a hot charge through the field as the lead duo of Bayer and Flud put sizeable distance between themselves and the pack. Bell would get the best in the mad scramble back to the front, finding a perfect spot in the cushion to catch the lead duo within sight of the white flag. Maintaining a great push coming off the turn 2 cushion, Bell would utilize the cushion again in turns 3 and 4 to snare the events runner up spot at the line in thrilling fashion.

As fans could not help but mill of what might have been with 1 more lap, reigning Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion Kevin Bayer scored his 3rd Lucas Oil ASCS2 triumph of the 2010 campaign aboard his familiar Factor One, Glazier Trucking, ARS Suspensions, and Fenton Graphics sponsored no. 91 machine. The aforementioned Bell snared not only the runner up spot, but also pulled to within an extremely narrow 12 points of Blake Hahn in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship chase as Hahn had made his way into the top 5 only to be relegated to a 10th place finish after contact with Zach Alley.

Frank "The Legendary" Flud would settle for show position honors, pulling within 46 markers of Hahn in the title chase. Ryan Duke and David McIntosh completed the top 5 running order of the 25 lap Outlaw main event. Andrew Felker and Kevin Bayer took heat race honors over the 17 car field.

Christopher Bell made himself heard loud and clear in the 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event, in most opportunistic fashion as well. Tulsa, Oklahoma native Matt Ward would lead the field to green, but it would be Norman, Oklahoma's Non Wing point leader Christopher Bell making a brazen move by both Ward and Oklahoma City native Trey Marcham at the conclusion of the 3rd curcuit.

Bell would fend off a series of caution period, seven in fact, including a gut wrenching lap 9 stoppage for Pauls Valley, Oklahoma's Steven Shebester as he tried to avoid a collision between Darrien Roberts and the turn 4 wall. However, Shebester would ultimately suffer too much damage to continue and would have to watch his 19 point deficit in the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing title chase be widened considerably.

In the closing stages of the 25 lap event, it appeared Darrien Roberts would offer challenge to Bell, only to slow to a stop in turn 4 within sight of the white flag. Bell would continue on unchallenged to his series best 6th Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing score of the 2010 campaign aboard the KMK Enterprises, Ruston Racing and Development, Millenium Roofing, Metric Cycles, Sleeper Graphics, and Home Creations sponsored red and black no. 21 bullet.

The dominant performance, combined with Shebester's bad luck, would reward Bell with a sizeable 77 point advantage in the 2010 Non Wing title chase. Tulsa, Oklahoma's Riley Adair would ultimately benefit from Darrien Robert's bad luck, completing a 16th to 2nd run at the final stripe. Oklahoma City native Trey Marcham settled for the show position. Jordan Herrman and Chris Cochran complete the top 5 running order. Bell, Marcham, and Mike Ward took heat race honors over the 19 car field.

In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted action, Jaron James led the field to the initial start of the 20 lap main event, but outside front row starter Dalton Wisely quickly took command. A sweeper of Lucas Oil ASCS2 Memorial Weekend action at Port City Raceway, Wisely continued that form with a serious of excellent restarts.

The dominant victory marked the 4th Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted score of the 2010 campaign for Sand Springs, Oklahoma's Dalton Wisely aboard the A&W, Metric Cycles, Aerodynamic Wheels, Sawyer Chassis, Maxwell Oil, Airflow Racing Products, and Car & Fleet sponsored no. 22 speedster.

Jaron James maintained the runner up spot throughout the 20 lap event, scoring his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 podoium finish of the 2010 campaign. The battle was intense for the show position with Ty Hulsey ultimately taking the show position. Hulbert, Oklahoma's Karley Kay Dobson overcame a heat race rollover to finish 4th with Austin Shores completing the top 5 running order. James, Martin, and Chance Martin took heat race wins over the 22 car field.

Current Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Championship point leader Logan Martin settled for 6th, with Dobson's 4th place finish narrowing Martin's lead to a scant 12 points in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted title chase.

The top 4 from each Lucas Oil ASCS2 main event are locked into the Saturday redraw. The Lucas Oil ASCS2 Labor Day Weekend Special at Port City Raceway continues into its' conclusion tomorrow night, Saturday September 4th. Heat race action will begin at 7pm.
