Hi Mike,

Sounds like an awesome event! Wish I could make it but I have a date with the wife at the State Fair on Saturday.
Hope the weather is great for the event and lots of cars show up. Keep us posted on a website that has photos of the event.

David.

No word yet. From what I heard on the grapevine the fairboard liked having the event but the organizer didn't meet his financial goals for the day. We really need some on-track events for open wheel cars in the Northern Illinois area. The Illinois Vintage group has the stock end of things going well but there isn't a similar open wheel group. John Sturges' Vintage Modified Group has been very welcoming to midget and sprint cars but at $4 a gallon for gas some of the "play dates" are a bit far away.

I'm putting most of my efforts into the Illini Racing Series sportsman midget schedule but have some friends who might be willing to help organize a few activities. There are plenty of cars sitting around in need of exercise.
