With 116 Sprints answering to the call for this years 360 Nationals needless to say you did not have to look to far for some competition. The finals was no different, regular Saturday night racer at Knoxville Chad Humston jumped out to the lead and looked like it might be his for the taking.
Shane Steward played it cool and stayed close, but he did not have to do much work for the lead as the front end of Humstons car broke and in the process of trying to get off the track, Johnny Herrera got collected and flipped violently down the front straightaway.
Steward was now in command, Sammy Swindell Started 8th and was in 2nd during the closing laps of the 25 lap, $10,000 to win
Nationals. Jason Johnson worked his way up from 13th to the 3rd position.
Randy Hannagan would lose a rear end with just 2 laps to go setting up a dramatic finish for the $10,000. Johnson run up to the outside of Swindell in turn #1 but Swindell recovered and would then make a last lap dive under Stewart thru the same corner.
Shane Stewart as I said was in control of this race from the time he got the lead, with his momentum around the the top he pulled away from Swindell and went on for the checkered flag. Enjoy.
