For Chicago traffic listen to WBBM Newsradio 780 on the AM dial. They have reports every 10 minutes. 80-94 in Northwest is a pain.

Just came back from there yesterday. The interchange at north 65 to80 is a 1lane mess. when we came back we cut across 30 at merriville. About 15 mile across there to 353(its 4 lane) north about 5mile and you get back on 80 right before the first toll booth.

Any paving north bound on 65?
